The Right Way or Not at All

Jabian Nimmo has been building custom woodwork in Southern California since 2007. After three years of fine furniture school, a four-year apprenticeship, and years working for established shops, he started JBN WoodCraft to do one thing: build pieces the right way.

That means taking the time, buying the better material, and delivering work that lasts - whether it's a hand-crafted entertainment unit or floor to ceiling, frame & panel wainscot with archways & faux beams. It also means turning down jobs that aren't the right fit.

JBN is a high-end small business. Not a crew pumping out box cabinets. If you want it done right, this is where you start.

FAQ

Everything You Need to Know

Answers to the things hiring managers always ask before they reach out.
Where are you based and where do you work?
JBN WoodCraft is operated out of Oceanside and has served Southern California since 2007. We cover San Diego County up to Temecula and southern Riverside County — generally within 25–30 miles of Oceanside. Service areas include Mission Hills, Carmel Valley, Rancho Santa Fe, Rancho Bernardo, La Jolla, Del Mar, Carlsbad, and many more.
What kinds of projects do you take on?
Architectural millwork is the core. That includes crown molding, archways, curved millwork, cased openings, frame & panel wainscot, appliqué, coffered ceilings, faux beams, feature walls, mantles, and door installation with custom handle-set boring and milling. We also do custom cabinetry and fine furniture. We work on projects that require real craftsmanship — not standardized, off-the-shelf, or high-volume production work. If you want something built right and built to last, reach out.
How is pricing determined?
Every project gets a fixed proposal — no hourly billing surprises. We walk through the scope, estimate the work, and give you a number to make a decision on. The proposal is the agreement.
How long does a custom project take?
It depends on scope. We don't rush — that's intentional. Timeline is confirmed in the proposal stage so you know exactly what to expect before work starts.
Do you work with designers and contractors?
Yes, and it's some of the best work we do. Designers and contractors typically come in with a clear scope and budget — which streamlines the process and expedites achieving our client's goals. If you're a designer or GC looking for a reliable custom woodworking sub, reach out.
Are you licensed?
Yes. CA C-6 Carpenter License #894543.
